Lantana are Australian family-run cafes that first opened in 2008 to fill in the gaps that were lacking from the London cafe culture. For those searching for a “good coffee”, Lantana fills the void.
There are 3 locations where you can get your fill of breakfast, brunch, or lunch along with sweet treats and drinks (Fitzrovia, Shoreditch, and Camden).
Lantana Fitzrovia is location on Charlotte Street, a side street off of busy Goodge Street.
Lantana Fitzrovia and Shoreditch both have an In and Out system. The In is for eating in, the cafe side (pictured below). The Out is for take aways.
Lantana Fitzrovia recently changed its lunch menu, but the most popular choices are the smashed avocado on sourdough and courgette bread open-faced sandwiches.
They also have a good variety of baked goods.
We chose the carrot cake for dessert. It’s a really moist, nut-filled cake topped with cream cheese icing and more nuts. To me, cream cheese icing is a must for carrot cake (and red velvet); regular buttercream is just wrong.
The carrot cake is served as a healthy slice and being moist is pretty filling. Since I like a moister carrot cake, I really liked this one.
We had lunch, dessert, and coffee here and would recommend Lantana highly.
