New York City, New York
Schmackary’s was another must eat on my New York vacation list. Started in Zachary “Schmackery” Schmahl’s apartment in 2011 as an online business, Schmackary’s quickly opened it’s first storefront in 2012.
I visited the West 45th Street location in the heart of the theater district and close to Times Square. Going around 10:30pm, I didn’t think that there would be that many people, but there was a long line. Maybe everyone needed an after theatre cookie!
With a number of flavors to choose from, it was pretty difficult to choose. They all looked so good.
I ended up getting the classic chocolate chip, cookies and cream, oatmeal scotchie, butter pecan, and red velvet. The cookies and cream and red velvet were the iced cookies.
I was not disappointed by any of the flavors, but I must say that the classic chocolate chip was my favorite. It had little bits of salt in it that helped cut the sweetness of the cookie. The cookies are pretty big, and the iced cookies are especially filling. I could only get through one at a time.
You really should go if you’re in New York. Even if you can restrain yourself and buy only one, it’s worth going. They even sell ice cream cookie sandwiches!
