We were on vacation in Portugal, which could be renamed our Tour de Egg Tarts. We ate so many. I almost turned into an egg tart.
One of the best places we went to was Pastelaria Suica, right off of Rossio Square. Pastelaria Suica was founded in 1922 and has been a meeting point throughout history due to its location.
You can either eat in and take in the scenery, or take out (like we did). After you have decided which sweets you want, you order at the counter and pay at the counter opposite.
*Egg tarts in Portugal are much more custardy than ones found in Asia which tend to be more eggy.
My suggestion is try a bunch of different pastries and figure out which ones you like. Then eat as many as humanly possible while you’re in the country!
